
Several players from the Spearfish High School girls soccer team open up about their early days on the field. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Peotter kicked off her journey as a toddler, honing skills against her striker sister—now at the University of South Dakota—and she’s set to suit up next at Black Hills State University. Teammates like junior Sierra Sandford, senior Cora Pierson, senior Kate Scharf, senior Daniela Rodriguez (also headed to Black Hills State), and senior Marley Whitlock credit their families and the sheer pull of the game for keeping them on the field since age four.
