RAPID CITY, SD – Black Hills Energy recently distributed over $460,000 of grants to 18 nonprofit organizations serving Black Hills communities. Among the nonprofit organizations receiving awards are:
Adult Day Center of the Black Hills – $15,000 for vehicle repairs and upgrades to better serve their clientele.
American Red Cross – $750 to support their disaster recovery efforts.
Central High School Environmental Club – $1,250 to support recycling and sustainability efforts at the school.
Destination Rapid City – $20,000 for a new electric Kuboto used in the upkeep and recycling efforts in downtown Rapid City.
2017 Class of Leadership Rapid City – $5,000 for construction of a playground at Working Against Violence Inc.
2018 Class of Leadership Rapid City — $5,000 sponsorship for FUSE, an event raising funds to support diversity efforts.
General Beadle Elementary School – $5,000 to provide Christmas gifts for 500 students..
Journey On – $1,500 to support Wilderness and Adventure Therapy programs.
Lady Patriot Softball – $1,500 toward the purchase of uniforms and equipment.
Love Inc. – $20,000 for renovations at new centralized facility on Omaha Street.
Minneluzahan Senior Center – $5,000 to improve their building’s energy efficiency.
Mt. Rushmore Rd. Group – $15,000 for holiday decorations for street lights.
Oglala Lakota College – $15,000 for the installation of Smart (Zoom) classroom.
Stevens High School Showstoppers – $1,500 to support their 2019-2020 season.
Super Dogs for Super Heroes – $2,000 to support veterans and their service dogs.
Vision Piedmont – $5,000 for economic development efforts in Piedmont, South Dakota.
Youth and Family Services — $50,000 for their facility expansion.
United Way – $293,678 pledged from Black Hills Energy employees, plus a 25% corporate match, supporting four United Way organizations in the Black Hills.
