The Sturgis Brown Scoopers made the first football night on Woodle Field’s new surface count, rolling past the Rapid City Central Cobblers 32-7. Quarterback Austin Flohr, a Stevens transfer in his second start, credited the guys up front and the playmakers who finished the throws. Gage West hauled in a pair of scores and talked about working with a quarterback he has known since middle school. Coach Chris Koletzky liked how many different players got involved and pointed to the offensive line as a strength heading into Friday’s home game with Yankton. That night doubles as military appreciation and a Black Hills Youth Football League night for the Sturgis Bucs and Piedmont Panthers. Friday night also features a Scooper Cheer performance.
